After being graduated in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Binghamton University, John went to work on Wall Street. Two years after becoming a licensed broker, John landed the role of managing partner at First New York Financial Holdings. In 1998, he moved to San Francisco, where he founded The Florez Group.

John was introduced to the world of Drupal in January 2006. Shortly thereafter, he created Drupal Connect, a full-service firm that provides Drupal development, training, and staffing services across North America.

John brings a creative, entrepreneurial spirit to his business. He believes in exercising the highest level of ethics to ensure that his clients’ best interests are always paramount.

In addition to Drupal, John’s passions include spending time with his wife, Karen, and his two dogs, Sonny and Franklin. He also enjoys playing tennis, eating at Lombardi's Pizza and Spark's Steak House, and watching gangster films. He was born in Colombia, South America, and now splits his time between Manhattan's Upper West Side and Newport, Rhode Island.
